Trattamenti per dolori cervicali, cefalee, problemi di allineamento mandibolare

Cranio-mandibular Therapy

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) treatment has gained popularity and is increasingly recommended by doctors and dentists as a truly effective treatment. This joint is often used as a stress relief valve: we involuntarily clench our teeth during the day or grind them at night, causing significant discomfort. Recently, I have been working in collaboration with dental professionals who were using this therapy as preparation for implant surgery and bite correction, integrating craniomandibular.physiotherapy into a multidisciplinary approach.

Trattamento del pavimento pelvico

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic floor therapy is an essential, yet little-known, branch of physiotherapy. It aims to restore impaired functions or improve residual functionality, addressing issues that can significantly affect quality of life, independence and psychophysical well-being.

In women, it is often shown after pregnancy and childbirth or in the presence of age-related disorders, surgeries, or specific pathologies. Pelvic dysfunction can cause incontinence, pelvic organ prolapses, pain during intercourse and other issues.

In men, rehabilitation is most useful following surgery (e.g., prostatectomy), trauma, or urological conditions. It can help treat conditions such as urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain and other dysfunctions.

I am a member of Pelvisuisse, the Swiss association dedicated to pelvic floor health, which supports education and quality in pelvic therapy.

Trattamenti per dizzness, vertigini oggettive, instabilità posturale

Dizziness & Vertigo

Effective management of vertigo begins with an accurate diagnosis: it is essential to distinguish between objective and subjective vertigo. Objective vertigo falls within the scope of a medical specialist; in contrast, subjective vertigo, characterised by feelings of instability, dizziness or imbalance, can be treated by a physical therapist, often with interventions targeting the suboccipital muscles and postural control.

Terapia manuale

Manual Therapy

I strongly believe in the manual approach: through direct contact with tissues, it is possible to perceive tension, imbalances, and areas of stiffness. Once the dysfunction is identified, spinal and joint manipulations help restore the physiology of the affected segment. In particular, HLVA short-lever techniques have proven gentle and effective, even for the treatment of the first cervical vertebra, the atlas.

Visceral Physiotherapy

Visceral Physiotherapy

Visceral physiotherapy aims to restore balance between the musculoskeletal system and the internal organs, also known as the viscera. Have you ever gone to sleep and suddenly woken up with pain in your back? Without significant effort, the cause could be linked to a viscus, especially the intestine, which works intensely during the night while the parasympathetic nervous system manages the body’s rest and regeneration functions. Visceral treatment employs gentle manual techniques to mobilise organs, reduce adhesions, and improve overall function, promoting well-being and harmony between the body and the autonomic nervous system.P

Cefalee e emicranie

Headaches & Migraines

The treatment of headaches and migraines begins with a thorough differential diagnosis. Although the terms are often used synonymously, there are significant differences in the location of the pain and onset. Generally, Headaches have vascular origins, especially when accompanied by an aura, while migraines are often related to muscle tension. Once the cause is identified, targeted intervention is provided to resolve the disorder. I frequently consult with ophthalmologists and orthoptists when I suspect the problem may also be related to the eyes.

dryneedling

Dry needling

Dry needling is an advanced physiotherapy technique designed to treat muscle dysfunction and myofascial trigger points, which are contracted areas of the muscle that can cause localised or referred pain, stiffness, and limited movement. By inserting thin, sterile, disposable needles directly into trigger points, a muscular response is stimulated that helps reduce tension, improve local circulation and relieve pain. The stimulation induced by the needles promotes muscle relaxation, improves joint mobility and accelerates the healing process.

Kinesio taping

Kinesio taping

Neuromuscular taping is a non-invasive therapeutic technique performed using special elastic tapes, which are applied to the skin to support muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, reduce pain and ease movement. The tape adapts perfectly to the skin, allowing continuous action even during physical activity. Depending on the application technique, the tape can have different effects: decongestant, stabilising, relaxing or stimulating. It is particularly suitable for muscle injuries, tendonitis, oedema, postural disorders and for sports or post-operative support.

Trattamento neonatale

Pregnancy and Newborn

For years, I have been treating newborn issues, including colic, congenital torticollis, breastfeeding difficulties and restlessness. Unlike adults, babies do not have a consolidated history (excluding pregnancy); therefore, physiotherapy must gently accompany and support their development, respecting their natural growth process. I regularly collaborate with gynaecologists and obstetricians to ensure an interdisciplinary approach and the best possible support for the newborn and their family. Each treatment is personalised to the child’s specific needs, respecting their rhythms and going with their development.
